Un aeropuerto pequeño, con todos los servicios; creo que la imagen junto con sus reformas exteriores no era la mas adecuada para la capital del Scotland,

Relaxed environment but very long walks. And they need to take Scotrail to task for pretending to sell through tickets from the airport but leaving passengers to pay for the initial leg - without any warning

The shopping at Edinburgh Airport makes me happy; however, compared to Glasgow Airport, the security screening process is extremely slow which makes me unhappy. Also, you are very far away from your personal possessions which makes them vulnerable to theft. The immigration process is equally slow and frustrating.

I often travel to or from Edinburgh Airport as I have been visiting Scotland on a regular basis for many years. The airport has grown and I really like the improvements with more cafés, shops etc. I also think that the security area is working well now after its initial problems :-) I do, however, find parts of the airport a bit old-fashioned and that there is potential for further improvements, such as installing lifts or escalators at some gates, where there are now only stairs. I also find it quite frustrating that self-service check-in and baggage drop are not available for a number of airlines (including the ones I use, SAS and Norwegian). Having to queue for baggage drop when you have checked in online the previous day is not what you expect of a city airport. I also think that the area where gates 1-3 (or is it 1-4, can't remember) are located, is too small. My experience is also that there is often confusion there as to what gate flights depart from. More than once gates have been changed at the last minute and people and up in the wrong queue. Sorry for the rant, but you asked for my opinion :-) Best regards, Maria Magnusson

Check in was good as we had a very helpful lad who was on work experience. Security was fast.

it's necessary for passengers of FinnAir to have an opportunity to registrate and drop off luggage automatically.

There was good (often going) public transport from the city centre.

On departing was impressed by the good use of modern check-ins and baggage drop. On return my experience was diminished substantially by the revolting, smelly gent’s toilets at international arrivals. Embarrassed that this might be one of the first impressions that a visitor gets of our country.

The customs lady was nice, after our 5000 hour wait.

Why don't you have self service check in for Norwegian? Arlanda have it! Not fun queing to check in.

Edinburgh Airport does not make me happy - why (1) the security people have no manners (2) the walk from security to the gates is too long for older people not interested in buying duty free (3) when we eventually reach the main area it has far too many empty shops & cafes taking up seating space & making people push past one another in the limited space! (5) on returning to a edinburgh airport I have often been bussed to immigration & held on a bus for a long time as too many planes arrive at the same time & the immigration hall isn't big enough

The good: Usually efficient security screening and decent lounges while waiting for the flight. The bad: Force all customers to do extra walking through duty free before can get from security to the gates. The walk is just a U-turn through the shop, especially annoying when running late and need to get to the gate quickly. Many near accidents with people running with big pieces of luggage and potentially knocking over expensive bottles of perfumes and alcohol. The ugly: Very few airlines use the jet bridges for whatever reason, especially BA and other discount airlines. So be prepared to get your workout and climb up and downstairs with all your luggage in usually inclimate weather to get on and off your flight. Even the largest BA 767 will have everyone climbing stairs. It's what you see in 3rd world countries, but surprise that this is often the case in Edinburgh where there are plenty of jet bridges available?!?!

Clean environment, easy access, selection of food outlets. However, very poor customer service points, in particular once you have entered departures. Find it very difficult to understand how there is NOT a single area designated for customer service. My flight was heavily delayed and I was unable to find anyone to ask for advice or relevant information. It also highlighted if a customer felt unwell or experienced a problem what would they do??

If one travels by Easyjet this is not such a happy experience as one has to walk a lot to get to and from plane. As a woman of 73 I am not so fast by foot. I also would like at least a smile from the people in customs . One young woman there on 3 rd June as I was traveling to Bristol around midday, was absolutely horrible to a young girl who was afraid of the body scranner but the woman who frisked her sternly told her to get back and have the whole scan. The child's mother was also stressed as I was. This is unacceptable behavior.
