Recently arrived at EDI after a 7hr 10 min flight from Calgary. Our flight was 20 mins early but we sat on the apron for 35mins due to lack of stand. Ehhh it’s not like they didn’t know we would be early! On arrival it was like entering a coo shed! Welcome to Scotland! As previously commented on -it was like a third world country. Another flight arrived at the same time. Literally hundreds of people being herded up and down stairs and all coming together at a single pinch point with one airport member of staff shouting instructions. Poor girl! There was a very long queue for BorderControl slowly snaking it’s way round. Automated machines are great but much slower than staff - but then again that means the government employing people! Once outside, the baggage reclaim area was no better. Despite being labelled ‘priority’ our bags were literally last off. (I’m aware this is an airline/handling agent problem and not EDI but it’s certainly not helping the overall experience. The whole area looks like it has been quickly and cheaply erected with no ‘Welcome’ or warmth to it. We were being picked up by a local hotel transfer and from touchdown to walking out the building it took us 1hr 35 mins - our driver commented ‘it’s usually bad but that’s disgraceful’. I’m ashamed to say this is our capital city’s airport. The growth in the number of routes served from Edinburgh is great news but the airport neither has the facilities nor staff to cope with them. I dread to think what foreign visitors/business travellers think! We live on the west coast and in the last 12 months we’ve flown long haul from EDI 3 times but I’m done with it. Unfortunately my next trip will now be with BA from GLA via LHR which sticks in my throat but it’s got to better than using Edinburgh airport! GIP get your finger out and complete the investment in EDI and that it both needs and deserves.

We travelled to Dublin via Ryanair on wed 16th aug... I'd hurt my knee a couple of days before but managed to limp my way to bar one for a lovely breakfast and on to the gate...we asked at the gate about assistance for the Dublin side...but unfortunately it wasn't organised..we managed to get it organised once over there but it took 45 minutes...on our way back it was easy to organise the assistance on the Dublin side and they must have organised for someone to meet us from the plane with a wheelchair...it had been a long day and it was midnight when we touched down (delayed) your man was fabulous...took us right to our car...we were sooo grateful...

They have cleaned up the booking process, although it is still difficult to find the Parking Service on the Airport website - this could be much more simple to locate.

In general, the airport is very good. However, I would rate departure as a 5, but arrival as a 3. I am in the travel and tourism industry and from a first impression point of view, 3* is not acceptable. Domestic arrivals are fine, but when it comes to Border Control and Baggage Reclaim for international arrivals, it is a lottery. Once again, Border Control was a mess this week if more than one flight arrives at the same time. It's not hard to sort out. Get some stronger people managing the queues and get the bags off the plane quicker. First impressions!!

The Edinburgh airport is easy to navigate with plenty of seating and a nice variety of restaurants. Beautiful airport for a great city.

It was small enough to manage relatively easily. But there could be better signs directing people to the buses and tram leading to city center. I found the doors to the bus stops more or less by accident after we had already passed by them.

Hello The airport is very nice, bright and easy to travel. The only point I did not like is the Gate 1 - 1E - 1F - 1K embarkation area, the area is very small, and the boarding passes are not well-defined, so the area was chaotic and unclear. People were a little scared, not knowing well what the right line was. Greetings Susanna Lanzoni

Very easy and quick through security despite it being very busy. Only problem is getting in to the airport. The one small access road is insufficient to service a busy airport

Good amount of shops and places to eat. A couple of downfalls were not enough seating in the shopping area, not enough free charging stations (plugs or USB connections) and water refill stations (to cut down on buying plastic bottles)

security check could be better organised - trays building up next to additional hand luggage check point - queue building up and stopping flow of customers collecting trays
