The security procedures are simple and thorough... and may I add polite. Night and day when compared to Heathrow T5. Neil

When I arrived three hours prior to my flight, the airport was still shut down from the night. The signage of where to check in for departure is very much lacking on the main level where the airport bus dropped me off, so I ended up upstairs at the departure gates, which were also still locked. I wasted at least 30 minutes there...when they opened, I realized I had to go back downstairs. By this time, the lineups were massive. After finally checking in and getting thru security, I tried to get breakfast and coffee at Cafe Nero, who were still opening up for the morning, even though the airport was full of people. They were really rude and told me to come back in 15 minutes. When I returned in 15 minutes, they told me to come back in 10 minutes. Finally, after wandering the other direction thru the halls, I discovered Costa Coffee, who had been open all the while. Not a pleasant experience on the way out whatsoever! Who wants to leave their holiday like this??!!

Airport was easy to navigate. Signage plentiful, enough shops and places to grab a bite or drink.

I was there on Wednesday at 9am in the security line with 20 minutes till my boarding closed and I was very doubtful that I would make it in time. I asked the man handling the beginning of the family line or something (medium height, dark hair) if there was anything that could be done because I thought I was genuinely going to miss my flight. He would not let me go in the shorter line, or call anyone for assistance. It was the complete opposite of good customer service. He was completely unwilling to help and seemed very okay with just letting me miss my flight. It's one of the worst interactions I've ever had with an airport employee, any service agent in any industry to be honest, he just did not care at all and it was so shocking and disrespectful. I had a lovely time in Edinburgh but he was one of my final interactions and I'm so so so disapointed. Someone talk to him please, it was so rude.

The answer on a question (i do not speak English excellent, but i can communicate, more or less...) was unpolite: i didn't understand the loud speaker, and so i asked the woman from the gate for an explanation, who made the impression of annoyed. The gate number was displayed very late, at the same time as boarding started.

No information given in regards to delayed flight and then no further information on having to move to different gates three times. Then on our return journey we had to wait 20 minutes for the pilot to find a spot to dock the plane ... not good

Trying to check in at the Air Lingus desk was incredibly slow, then when I tried to enter the security area the scanner would not accept my electronic or paper copy of my boarding pass. The person on the desk would not hel me and he advised me to go back and have my birding pass reprinted. At the check in desk it was chaos with lots of people that were going to miss their flight one of the staff took 20 minutes to process one family whilst the second staff member left the booking in area I then had to be rude and went to the front of the line to get a reprint of my boarding pass which took around 5 minutes. I then had to run all of the way and delayed at security and just maid the last call for the flight. Not a good start for a holiday!!!

Edinburgh is one of my favourite airports however the washrooms are in need of renovation! Always dirty and the hand dryers barley work
