Baggage handling is unbelievably slow - and absolutely no information or explanation for the reason available. No visible staff around baggage reclaim area and electronic evaluation of service out of order! Not good enough & embarrassing for visitors to Edinburgh.

After buggage check-in at the staffed check-in counter we had to carry them to a conveyer band 2-3 meters behind the check-in counter. Fast track security check was not fast. To enter Aspire Lounge, we had to sign up for a queue although we already had lounge tickets. We could see empty chairs and tables, but we had to stand in a queue. We left the queue after 15 minutes waiting. The Aspire staff claimed that all lounges at all airports have a queue the guests need to sign up for…

It took 45 mins for the luggage to come through when I flew from Lhr to Edi… not for the first time… a regular occurrence!!! Why are there no escalators going down to baggage reclaim… we watched elderly ppl struggling with luggage and there only one lift!!! Very badly planned exit.

Baggage reclaim is the poorest world wide I have experienced, having visited over 42 different airports all over the world. What an embarrassment for a so called international airport in my home country.

This airport is a joke. Its bad enough being kept waiting abroad after the europeans sticking the boot in post brexit but to arrive into arrivals number one with 4 out of only 5 passport readers working while two border force staff sit doing nothing, its a joke. Doesn't finish there, they charge for a luggage trolly.

Edinburgh airport is a disgrace. People arrive into ‘sheds’ with dirty floors and have to climb up and down stairs with their carry-on luggage then in a final insult have to pay to rent a trolley. This airport belongs in some third world country.

Grubby and tired looking. No charging points and very little seating. Felt that we passengers were a nuisance and we should leave as soon as possible. Too small for the numbers going though. Not a pleasant place.

I've been flying from Edi pretty often due to work reasons. The service at the bag drop is constantly very slow and it looks like the staff don't know what they are supposed to do. Flights are constantly delayed due to exotic reasons like staff shortages at the airport. It's very stressful to fly from this airport if you have connecting flights waiting for you at your next destination.

I have been to the airport twice and both times I have wanted to buy a krispy kreme donut before my flight but unfortunately there has never been anyone at cash register to serve the donuts. I don’t know if the krispy kreme kiosk has just been forgotten or maybe the workers just don’t care about serving customers. Next time I might just consider taking a donut myself and leaving a few pounds on the till.

Me and my family visitted Scotland and Edinburgh Airport for the first time last Thursday on a flight from Billund with Ryan Air. We flew back today (this Thursday). Our arrival we waited for 1 hour and 45 minute for our luggage. At least 10 later arrivals got their luggage before people from the plane we were on. The luggae were handled by Swissport. We have now read a lot of reviews on Swissport and it seems that Swissport is an absolute dissasterious company. I do not understand what they are still doing in Edinburgh Airport. On our way back today we were boarded by a very grumpy female employee carrying a Swissport-west. She was yelling disgrafully at the passengers. Otherwise other things seems to function at the airport today. We was rather quickly through the bagdrop and was kindly guided through security. So thats possitive. Upon all the other reviews on Swissport and our own experiences, I would strongly recommend that Edinburgh Airport finds a replacement for Swissport. We are reluctant to return to Edinburgh Airport as long as we risk our luggage being handled by Swissport.

The last 2 times I’ve landed at Edinburgh Airport the baggage reclaim has been very slow. 45 minutes and over an hour. I’m not sure who has ultimate responsibility but it needs to be improved. It spoils your travel and makes you consider other airports which don’t seem to have the same problems. I’m only giving 2 stars which are given to other parts of the process as it would be no stars for baggage reclaim.

Airport is fine. Security experience is terrible. Arcane rules on carry on liquids are inconsistent with rest of the developed world which results in ridiculous delays with NO increase in safety/security. Too many dead-eyed disinterested (bordering on obnoxious) security agents. The whole operation appears to be a thinly veiled government full-employment initiative and it’s asinine. Unnecessarily stupid experience that diminishes a great country.

Thank you for your review. The rules in security regarding liquids have been in place since 2006 and there have been no changes since then. We are currently in the process of upgrading our security scanners and we expect more of these to come online in the coming months. Kind regards, Customer Support Team

Waited 15 minutes on the plane for a bus to take us to the terminal then only one turned up. 5 minutes later the second one arrived. We then proceeded to drive round the airport, parked for about another 10 minutes then drove back to roughly where we had started. Now a long walk up a scruffy staircase followed by an exceptionally long queue at Border Control, we even had to queue to get into the border control area. Finally after spending about 15 minutes scanning the baggage conveyor we managed to find someone to ask where our bags were. Apparently they had been taken off and stacked against a nearby wall. Someone could have said. This airport is an embarrassment.

Edinburgh Airport is sorely lacking in organisation and practical customer care. We fly a lot and dread when we have to use Edinburgh Airport. It’s a shame Glasgow Airport has cut flights since the pandemic as they are much better. Edinburgh really needs to work on the poor welcome to Scotland people receive coming into their airport.

Edinburgh airport is poorly managed and disorganised. The airport cannot cope with the number of flights and subsequent passengers. Profit seems to be the only driver. The current operators seem to be unwilling to undertake a root and branch re-design of the airport that would , at least match the leading mediums sized airports in Europe or Asia. Initial points to consider are -Customer experience such as seating -Layout of the airport service areas -Covered, stylish access to parking areas -Engaging architecture

We arrived November 10th at 19.30 hours. Customs was great to get through but your toilets (ladies and gents) were disgusthing not clean at all and a dirty smell! Even when drying your hands, the air that comes out smelled like urine! International airport?? Really not representative….. great though to have the tram to the city center!

Nowhere to eat or drink despite reading on internet that Costa is open 24 hours. Arrived early giving us plenty of time because of bad weather and extremely disappointed. Security closed and Costa closed once we got through.

Thank you for your review. The only retail outlet that is open within the terminal for 24 hours a day is Starbucks which is located next to International Arrivals. Kind regards, Customer Support Team

Baggage took over an hour to come off plane. No reasons given or apologies. Passport control queue was average.
