At security the personnel gear you put on the tray to go through the scanner was left to go through whilst we had to queue at another area to go through the human scanner, when we passed that there was dozens of personal stuff that was left for anyone to steal. That is not security at its best, it's a scandal

The airport is totally unprepared for an airline disruption like the one that happened to British Airways on Saturday. Not enough seating, disallowing stranded passengers to rest overnight on restaurant couches results in people on cold concrete floors. No help, no one to make decisions. Sometimes helping people is more important than not applicable helth and safety regulations or liquor licensing rules. Very disappointing experience.

BA failed to get me home and belated re-routed me via Glasgow. Now on route back to Edinburgh airport to get my car. No assistance provided at any point.

When I handle the boarding pass, I pay the checked baggage fee. When I went to the gate, it took twenty minutes from the plane to take off, but did not let me board the plane. I missed the flight but did not refund the cost of my baggage. The key is, why do I check the check-in time, the counter staff do not tell me the aircraft half an hour ahead of the cabin, and then let me handle baggage? Is this intentionally let me pay? The wifi service is terrible and the entire process of going through security is painfull. The system is so out of date but I work in Edinburgh so have no choice but to travel through the airport. I have travelled to Glasgow airport every week for 18 months and am now going to go back to glasgow and drive to Edinburgh. i Am from New Zealand and have travelled extensively around the world and Edinburgh is bottom of the list. Wifi is below poor in this day and age Security is nothing less than shambolic I have told my visiting family to fly to Glasgow and i will pick them up

When I arrived three hours prior to my flight, the airport was still shut down from the night. The signage of where to check in for departure is very much lacking on the main level where the airport bus dropped me off, so I ended up upstairs at the departure gates, which were also still locked. I wasted at least 30 minutes there...when they opened, I realized I had to go back downstairs. By this time, the lineups were massive. After finally checking in and getting thru security, I tried to get breakfast and coffee at Cafe Nero, who were still opening up for the morning, even though the airport was full of people. They were really rude and told me to come back in 15 minutes. When I returned in 15 minutes, they told me to come back in 10 minutes. Finally, after wandering the other direction thru the halls, I discovered Costa Coffee, who had been open all the while. Not a pleasant experience on the way out whatsoever! Who wants to leave their holiday like this??!!

No information given in regards to delayed flight and then no further information on having to move to different gates three times. Then on our return journey we had to wait 20 minutes for the pilot to find a spot to dock the plane ... not good

Trying to check in at the Air Lingus desk was incredibly slow, then when I tried to enter the security area the scanner would not accept my electronic or paper copy of my boarding pass. The person on the desk would not hel me and he advised me to go back and have my birding pass reprinted. At the check in desk it was chaos with lots of people that were going to miss their flight one of the staff took 20 minutes to process one family whilst the second staff member left the booking in area I then had to be rude and went to the front of the line to get a reprint of my boarding pass which took around 5 minutes. I then had to run all of the way and delayed at security and just maid the last call for the flight. Not a good start for a holiday!!!

Travelling through Edinburgh is an awful experience. From arriving at the airport to boarding a flight is an extremely poor experience. On arrival you have walk through a thick "wall" of cigarette smoke. The check in experience is slow and similar to a third world airport largely due to the number of check in desks not being expanded in line with the number of flights and passengers. It's surely not a surprise that the baggage system regularly fails as it has not been expanded to cope with the "temporary"check in desks. The queues for security are frequently very long reaching back to the escalators. When using the fast track service there are regularly times when there isn't a dedicated fast track line. Airline crew and other staff frequently push to the front of the fast track queue. Airside there are insufficient seating areas and seats probably because of the focus on adding more shops. Air bridges are frequently broken or not used. Departure and arrival gates are frequently in remote areas of the airport extending journey times by 20 to 30 minutes.

Not enough people in a security or border patrol to allow people through quickly. Also no notification about flight delays.

Late arrival on Flight 816 from Faro on Monday night. Plane Landed Late at 11.05 - Why did it take 10/15 mins for the Stairway Appliance to Attend? The plane parked up as far away from the terminal as it could possibly be? Why?- Taken to the far end of the terminal where we had to endure a wait of nearly 20 mins for baggage to arrive! Why? The conveyor broke down where we again had to endure a further 15 min wait and delay! Why? The total time delay was nearly 2 hours - Disgusting for an International Airport and No Way was this Jet 2's fault! The attendants at the conveyor fiasco were employees of Edinburgh Airport and didn't have a clue - A Jet 2 employee tried her best to get an answer to this shambles but there was no senior Airport official about to help - It appears they disappeared down a black hole! Disgusting & Shambolic!

The security system is not very well planned. After at least a 10 minute wait I then had to use position number 1. Put my stuff in the tray and went through the X-ray machine. Then stood and watched 8 people who had been behind me collect my their trays before my tray eventually came through!!!!

I experienced an extraordinary delay at security, which caused me to miss my flight. I had the same cabin bag I used getting through Gatwick on the same trip, but Edinburgh security had to search the bag. I also noted that the majority of the bags were sent to the search queue, without adequate personal to perform the searches and a subsequent build up of massive security delays. I spoke to the Airline and they mentioned that the delays were not an isolated occurrence. I would expect more from a modern airport.

My wife & I were scheduled to fly out of Edinburgh Airport on 1st May, 2017 for Dublin IRE. During the process of self checking our bags in, the machine stopped. By the time we found someone and tried to get help, we were informed that the cut off time for self checking of bags happened just after we started. The lady on the Service counter for Ryanair tried to get us on the flight but to no avail. We were told to go around to Swissair and book another flight which was leaving for Dublin after lunch. Not only did it cost us 100 pound for each ticket to be rebooked, it triggered me into an Anxiety attack. I suffer Chronic PTSD from my military service in the Australian Army. For the next couple of days I was on edge. Even when going through Customs later that day, I was that triggered from the experience in the morning that I sweated profusely all day. It is pretty poor by anyone's standards when an ex-member of the Military of a British Commonwealth country or any country for that matter to be treated the way I was not to mention the 200 pound fee I was charged to reschedule the flights for my wife and I. It is also a strain on her as she had to put up with my mental health issues for all of our married life. This trip was to be a special trip for us as it is for for 40th Wedding Anniversary.

I travel a lot and EDI is my least favourite airport. Last time I arrived we were parked at a remote stand over by the cargo depot. It took way too long to get us to the terminal. The check-in desks (for BA) are now badly positioned. The Security lines are always busy and there is always a rather hectic feel about this process. You have to walk round the houses to get to the taxi rank. In general the airport is too small and surprise, surprise, the investment seems to have been made in the duty-free area rather than in passenger comfort.
